April 1st, Atheist Day
In Florida, an atheist created a case against the Easter & Passover holy days. He hired an attorney to bring a discrimination case against Christians, Jews & observances of their holy days. The argument was, it was unfair that atheists had no such recognized day(s). The case was brought before a judge. After listening to the passionate presentation by the lawyer, the judge banged his gavel declaring, 'Case dismissed.'
The lawyer immediately stood objecting to the ruling saying, 'Your honor, how can you possibly dismiss this case? The Christians have Christmas, Easter & others. The Jews have Passover, Yom Kippur & Hanukkah. Yet my client & all other atheists have no such holidays.'
The judge leaned forward in his chair saying, 'But you do. Your client, counsel, is woefully ignorant.'
The lawyer sai d, 'Your Honor, we are unaware of any special observance or holiday for atheists.'
The judge said, 'The calendar says April 1st is 'April Fools Day.' Psalm 14:1 states, 'The fool says in his heart, there is no God.' Thus, it is the opinion of this court, that if your client says there is no God, then he is a fool. Therefore, April 1st is his day. Court is adjourned.

Desperation
What comes to mind when you hear the word desperation?
A desperate or dire situation, one without hope?
For instance the desperation we see in the nation of Haiti.
Perhaps we think of a person in serious need, someone who is struggling just to get by, or an individual who is fighting for their life battling a serious illness.
Generally the word desperation implies a situation that is beyond our control, beyond our ability to fix, mend, repair, or make right. As human beings there are few things in our lives that we fear more than those in which we cannot control.
In our minds desperation often suggests weakness, which Webster defines as “an inadequate or defective quality”
Oh how we strive to be inadequate and defective in our lives.
However when it comes to our relationship with God, being desperate and vulnerable before Him is exactly where we need to be.
The word Desperate/Desperation is defined as
- Having an urgent need or desire
We probably don’t have to look too far behind us to remember a time in which we had an urgent need or desire. It is all too natural for us to try and find the answers ourselves, but the beauty of being truly desperate is knowing that He is the only solution.
A great example of this is found 2 Samuel, when we find David in the midst of a greater need than we have likely ever experienced. On the run and in danger of losing his life David wrote
Psalm 3:3-4 “But you, O Lord, are a shield about me, My glory, and the lifter of my head, I cried aloud to the Lord, And He answered me from his holy hill.”
2. Reckless or Dangerous because of despair or urgency
The state of the church and Christians in general is ineffective as a whole. We have grown comfortable in our walk with God, in our call as believers, and our position in the Kingdom.
We have failed to identify the urgency in the time we live in and the despair of the world around us.
It is time for us as believers to become reckless and dangerous to the kingdom of darkness. Not by our own strength but though His.
“When King Jehoshaphat prepared for battle, he took the position of getting on his face to worship God. That is the true position of warfare”
–Pastor Bobbi Veach
3. Ultimate effort, giving all
When we truly become desperate we position ourselves to be used most effectively for God. True desperation brings true worship, it is in that place we are able to give our all.
Psalm 84:2 "My soul longs, yes, even faints for the courts of the LORD; My heart and my flesh cry out for the living God."

Tim Tebow Superbowl Commercial

i dont want to spend much time on this but i need to get it out, alot has been made of tim tebows upcoming superbowl commerical, in which he apparently tells his story of how his mother chose not to abort him as a child. the commercial is created to express a greater value for family. it isnt taking shots at anyone, it isnt promoting an harmful agendas. anyway make of the commercial what you will.
but i love how immediately you have every feminist, pro-choice outlet is bashing cbs for airing this commercial, like they are the only ones who are allowed to express their views, and as my friend ben pointed out, when anyone opens their mouth its deemed to be offensive and intolerant.
to the point while listening to ESPN radio today an ESPN sports segment comes on with a guy by the name of Tim Kuehn. he basically goes on to bash tebow for the commercial, and suggests that he needs to keep better company. bashes James Dobson for agreeing with "spanking" your children and whatever else he could fit in to his 60 second segment. where does he get off putting his biased views out on ESPN? a sports network, and who gives him the go ahead to do it?
anyway im not a political guy, i hates getting into pointless debates about this crap but like i said i felt the need to vent.
i sent this as a complaint to ESPN in the limited 500 characters they gave me to do it in
"on ESPNRadio Michael Kay Show one of your sports minute segments was Tim Kuehn bashing tim tebow for his decision to appear in the upcoming superbowl commercial, inferring that it was a poor decision to associate himself with James Dobson. i do not have a problem with someone voicing their opinion, but i do not feel that ESPN is the right venue for such an opinion. simply stated i dont want to hear someone's biased views expressed on your network, and i feel an apology is in order to Tebow and Dobson.
Thank You"
and yeah i feel better now
